Every time I go to Split I take the night train from Zagreb... so I can sit beside the dawn at the docks while we wait for sun to come out... It is quiet, very quiet.. just the sound of the waves splashing about the docked ships and seagulls quarreling..
And, little by little, the docks come to life.. people come off the ships.. sellers on the street market rush to open their fruit and vegetable stands... and there is all that combustion all of a sudden...........
